At NUAX, we are strongly commited to an environmentally risponsible production of top-quality musical instruments.
These are some exampes of our guidelines regarding this vital matter:
The wood used in the bodies of our guitars and basses are exclusively FSC certified (http://www.fsc.org)
Consequently, no endagered species are used on our instruments. Not even those which are at mild risk and are very valued in the industry (particularly Brazilian Rosewood, African Ebony, Cedar, and others).
Our production process is optimized towards a rational utilization of the wood, minimizing waste.
All other components, like electronics, metallic parts, etc., follow the RoHS directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), enforced in Europe since 2006.
Even if our production is mostly handmande and very limited (custom instruments), the energy used in our workshop is provided by operators who use 100% renewable generation resources. All equipment is up to the latest technologies, and the power used (wattage) was designed to not overconsume electricity. All light sources are low energy.
The use of paper as communication support is minimized (we use mostly digital media); but, when used, is 100% recycled paper.
In accordance with the local practices in Germany, the waste is disposed in separately in ad-hoc containers, following the current recycling policies in place.
